Calanque l'Eissadon

Its rocks, its tunnel

The calanque l'Eissadon, located in Marseille, is characterised by its unique reliefs, made of breacks in the rocks. The walls around it are very abrupt and show multiple cracks in the rocks.

This calanque is difficult to access. You will find l'Aiguille de l'Eissadon, a lovely rock carved and naturally scuptured. This "tunnel" is acessible by kayak (depending on the weather conditions).

This "Needle" is reputable and has become well-known ever since is was photographed by Gaston Rébuffat and after being published in a number of editions including the cover for IGN n°269 de 1978.
